A postdoctoral training opportunity in eye genetics is now available in the laboratory of V. Vinod Mootha, M.D., in the Department of Ophthalmology and the McDermott Center for Human Growth and Development at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Responsibilities:

Our NIH funded lab studies the molecular genetic basis of the most common DNA repeat expansion disorder, Fuchs’ endothelial corneal dystrophy.

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoc to study repeat RNA mediated cellular degeneration and participate in therapeutic development.


Qualifications/Preferred Skillsets:

The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and have strong molecular biology skills and experience with use of mouse models of disease, a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and have strong molecular biology skills and experience with use of mouse models of disease.
