The Kaufman lab is excited to announce a postdoctoral research opportunity in Cell Biology and Mitochondrial Disorders. This position will focus on the fundamentals of mtDNA biology and the resolution of mtDNA mutations in human and mouse models. The successful applicant will be trained in high resolution and live-cell microscopy, DNA structure assessment, and organelle-targeted drug delivery. They will also be exposed to mouse models for both mechanistic and therapeutic studies. The Kaufman lab currently has a developing pipeline of therapeutic approaches for investigation. Lab members are trained in being competitive for T32, F32, K, and foundation grants, reviewing papers and grants, giving presentations and running a laboratory.

Qualifications/Preferred Skillsets:

PHD equivalent
