Description:

A postdoctoral associate position is available in the group of Prof. Xiao Wang in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of California, Santa Cruz. The research will focus on electronic structure problems of periodic solids using innovative wavefunction methods. Our group is interested in developing and applying ab initio quantum chemistry techniques to study properties of condense-phase materials, motivated by intriguing applications in drug development, chemical catalysis, and renewable energy. Qualifications/Preferred Skillsets:

1. PhD in Computational or Theoretical Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or related discipline
2. Experience in electronic structure calculations (density functional theory or wavefunction-based methods) for materials
3. Experience in programming for high-performance computing
