Description:

We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to join the Orchard Lab at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. We are interested in understanding how viruses recognize and replicate within host cells, how the immune system thwarts viral invaders, and how viral immune antagonism genes function. We have been focused on Noroviruses, a common cause of diarrhea and notorious spoiler of cruise ship vacations. However, we are expanding our investigations to other RNA viruses including Influenza and Enteroviruses. We take a broad, multidisciplinary approach to science including biochemistry, viral genetics, CRISPR/Cas9 genetic screens, and in vivo mouse models.
