Full time position for 1-2 years renewable unto five years. Salary is NIH stipend commensurate with years after graduation.
The project involves obtaining the structure of prestin the outer hair cell membrane based motor responsible for electromotility. We have obtained the structure of the protein in an inside open contracted state. The project would entail obtaining the structure under different voltages.
Experience with protein purification is a requisite. Experience with CryoEM is preferred.
The methods are up and running with minimal leads time.

Express and purify protein, freeze grids, analyze and derive structure from CryoEM images.

Qualifications/Preferred Skillsets:

PhD., experience with protein purification and CryoEM.
